| Lawmen arrest 2 in Lufkin motel meth bust
Authorities on Wednesday surprised two men and a woman in a Lufkin motel room that contained the kind of equipment used to cook methamphetamine. Inside a corner room at Motel 6 on Timberland Drive, investigators acting on an anonymous tip found a couple ounces of unfinished meth — nearly three times what the department typically finds, said investigator Allen Hill of the Angelina County Sheriff's Office. Lufkin police arrested Scott Hodge and Matthew Sherman, charging both with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. The woman was detained and later released. Several glass bottles filled with chemicals cluttered the dresser of motel room 148 as investigators identified the contents of each. Hill said the smell of toxic chemicals, including red phosphorus, camping fuel and antifreeze, was overpowering in the room when investigators surprised the three inside.

Barack Obama offers hope and Hillary Clinton offers solutions, but they offer little of either on gun control. In the wake of the Feb. 8 shootings at Louisiana Technical College that took three lives, Hillary "Solutions" Clinton issued a statement that said, "I am saddened and my heart goes out to the victims and families of those affected today by the senseless crime that took place at Louisiana Technical College. "Violence of any kind should not be tolerated and hits too close to home when it's directed at our young people. America has witnessed school violence before and it is always tragic. We must do all we can to prevent such acts and keep our children safe at home and in our schools."Last week, the day after the rampage that left six people dead at Northern Illinois University, Barack "Hope" Obama did a classic equivocation as if he knew the National Rifle Association was waiting to nail him in all the "red" states he has won.
Trump has made us look like a nation of parochial bumblers
This episode sends a message to every wideboy property developer that the Scots are so weak and befuddled, that you can run rings round them. That you can walk into the office of any top civil servant and browbeat them into getting what you want. As I say, I intend no slur against the integrity of Jim McKinnon, an innocent bystander here. But the Scottish political classes as a whole have shown themselves to be out of their depth when dealing with difficult people like Trump. It was not unreasonable to expect him at least to negotiate over the Site of Special Scientific Interest that he intended to defile with his golf links. Maybe in the end, the development is worth the damage to the environment. Almost certainly a compromise could have been reached over the sand dunes in question.
Obama's victories draw more voter groups as Democrats waver
I noticed that she had fewer wrinkles in her face last night. I commend her make-up artist. I want to point out how horrible a women candidate she is. She stuck by Bill when most women would not have. She played the game last night with the make-up to look and appear not tired to more of a younger voter. More importantly was the situation where the media is now favoring Obama. Shame on them. I understand the media loves a good story. Right now Obama sells. I will say this, Mr. Obama will lead, but hopefully by the way he runs his campaign, not like the old vanguard of the the American Political Process. I think it is important to have strong candidates that can take America out of the old garbage politics to, perhaps, the world stage of respectable debate. Mr. Obama is a leader that can lead with discussion.
