A rooftop patio for 75 patrons, complete with a polished granite bar, decorative planter boxes and one killer view of the massive Buckhead retail renovation currently under way.

McGill says the pub's menu faves like corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips and famous boxtys are staying put as are those popular early AM televised soccer and rugby matches that are heavily attended by British ex pats and their American friends.

Alas, the inconvenient hour of the game telecasts here (the matches are played in the PM across the pond) is something McGill says won't change either,

Quipped McGill: "The vagaries of time travel forces us to show them at that hour here."

If city permits are issued in a timely fashion, the new Fado should be open in time for St.

Every School Every Thursday -- West Des Moines & Clive

In support of the Character Counts pillar of citizenship, sixth-grade students participated in a mock caucus at school Jan. 3. The sixth-grade teachers presented some positive highlights about each candidate and then let the students discuss the candidates among themselves. Students practiced good debating and persuasion skills. The results were as follows: Barack Obama-58 percent, Mike Huckabee-22, Hillary Clinton-7, Mitt Romney-7, Bill Richardson-2, Rudy Giuliani-2, John McCain-1, and Ron Paul-1.

The Jordan Creek waffle breakfast and book fair is scheduled for Jan. 26 in the community room at Jordan Creek. Tickets for the waffle breakfast are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. Volunteers are needed to help. Please call Wendi Roush, 267-1719 or Susan Kopaska, 221-3371. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the media center at Jordan Creek.

Online Photos Not as Private as Assumed

Depending on the site, there are a number of options as to who can blog, download or print your pictures.

"People should look before they leap and spend a little bit of time understanding how a particular site works," Dempsey said.

If you add a caption or name a photo, know that the keywords might pop up in a Internet search someday. Google's Picasa, for example, has a "searchable" option for those who want to share their pictures with the world.

Photo-sharing Web sites recommend that users test their privacy settings by having a friend try to break into their private photo albums to see if the pictures are thoroughly hidden.

"If you don't want the Flickr community to view a photo, take the extra step to make sure the photo is marked as private," Karlsten said.

Phillies looking for this year's pitching longshot

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Steve Noworyta's face is not one you probably know, but it is a baseball face. Tight brown hair cut close to the scalp, a neatly trimmed mustache, a jaw that looks built to take a punch.

From a distance, he looks like Tom Selleck in "Mr. Baseball," except for the past 9 1/2 years, Noworyta has been Mr. Minor Leagues for the Phillies, monitoring the organization's prospects from the front line.

He has seen Ryan Howard in Batavia, Jimmy Rollins in Clearwater, Cole Hamels in Lakewood.

And last March, when most of the world didn't know Kyle Kendrick from Jimi Hendrix, Noworyta was waiting for his moment to shine.

"We knew he was close," said Noworyta, the Phillies' director of minor leagues.

A year later, Kendrick, 10-4 with a 3.87 ERA after a June call-up from Double A Reading, is penciled in as the Phillies' fourth starter.

Now this is a topic I am going to have fun with!!!!

A government green paper published yesterday said the age-12 rule will be introduced from October next year. But in 2010, the age limit will fall to seven. Ministers hope to sweeten the pill by promising more government assistance for lone parents who go to work. "Those lone parents who transfer to Jobseeker's Allowance will be expected to look for suitable work in return for personalized help and support," the paper said. "This will include improved childcare provision and help with identifying jobs with suitable flexible working arrangements." "This increased pressure on lone parents to seek work when their children are young is totally inappropriate," said Sue Robertson, director of One Parent Families Scotland. "Lone parents should retain the freedom to put their children first."

Please give a breather.
